Camelot Alexander really devoured the ground in the Gowran Park Handicap over an extended nine furlongs to give Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley a double.
This was an impressive handicap debut for the Camelot filly who wasn't placed in three maidens last season.
She swooped down the inner of her rivals and ran away from them in the final furlong to seal the deal by two and three-quarter lengths at 9/2. Cloud Seeker (5/1)had to make do with second and was half a length up on 11/8 favourite Surfers Paradise
“That was a lovely start back, she strengthened up an awful lot from last year,” Harrington said.
“She's just a different filly. She was very tense last year but she's relaxed this year and she did it very nicely.
“Once he switched her to the inside she flew. She'll stay further.”
