Trainer Jessica Harrington and stable jockey Robbie Power combined to win the opening two races at Down Royal today, completing the feat when Flaviana on her seventh maiden hurdle attempt, won the Allied Bakeries Mares sponsored event.
The pair were earlier successful with Lake Champlain and following Flaviana's win, Power said: "it worked out well. She ran well the last day in Cork, she settled better there. They went very slowly [today] and she toughed it out well. She dug deep.
"She is only learning to race, she has been far too free in her races. A strongly run two miles would be ideal for her. It is soft ground out there and yielding to soft in the straight."
