Trainer Jessica Harrington and stable jockey Shane Foley combined for their latest juvenile winner at Sligo today as For The Trees justified even money favouritism to make all and win the Foran Equine Irish EBF (F) Auction Maiden.
For The Trees, a daughter of Ivawood, bounced out smartly from her outside draw in 10 before making all and seeing off the challenge of Believe In Beauty by a length and three parts.
Afterwards Foley said “she absolutely winged the gates. This is a nice filly, she picked up really well in Leopardstown and I was surprised something ran me down. I'd say Ger's filly is nice,” said Foley.
“This was an ideal race for her as she has a bit of pace but she'll have no bother going seven furlongs.
“She's just another nice filly to add to the pecking order at home.
“The ground is on the easy side, probably just yielding. She didn't mind it as she has run on all types of ground.
“She's a filly we liked early doors in the season so I'm glad to get her head in front.”
Trainer Harrington has won races with half her juvenile crop this term as For The Trees' success was her 17th individual juvenile winner from 35 two year olds sent out since March.
