Hannon and Hughes complete Curragh double
2000 Irish Guineas winning combination of Richard Hannon and Richard Hughes were back in the winner's enclosure today when Shamwari Lodge landed the TRI Equestrian Group 3 Stakes.
Hughes who made all aboard the odds on shot (8/15) kicked clear of his rivals under two furlongs out and kept on well for a comfortable success over Indiana Gal
A delighted Richard Hannon Jnr revealed, “That possibly wasn’t the strongest race but she took the step up well.”
“Richard [Hughes] is quite keen to have a look at the Breeders Cup Fillies & Mares race, so we’ll have to decide whether to give her an easy Summer and do that.”
“She’s a good filly with a very good pedigree. She’ll go for the Winter Forest Stakes at Ascot next and we think she’ll go close.”
“There is also a race in Turkey for her, we’re keen to go pot hunting with her.”
