Handsome Bachelor scores at Gowran
Andrew Oliver's Handsome Bachelor, under Chris Hayes, made it third time lucky when winning the Family Day at Gowran Park Maiden at Gowran today.
The son of Trans Island had previously endured two unpleasant career runs when this saddle slipped at The Curragh and when he hung badly close home at Naas, but made no mistake today, winning comfortably by two and a half lengths from Viceroy Of India
Oliver later reported "I'm delighted he won because things worked against him on his two previous starts. Chris (Hayes) said he had loads left at the finish and he'll probably go for a decent handicap at The Curragh now, and will step up further if he progresses."
