The Ger Lyons trained Spader made all when making a winning handicap debut at Navan today, comfortably landing the Come To The Family Day May 15th Handicap under jockey Colin Keane.
The son of Jeremy stayed on strongly from the two furlong pole for a four lengths win over Ceol Na Nog
Lyons later stated “my daughter Kerri rides all his work at home. He's one of those horses that works well at home but was not really showing it on the track.
"He's by Jeremy and if he didn't handle this ground he'd be about the only one by the sire that doesn't. We have left the ten thousand bonus behind by not winning a maiden but that's the way it goes.
"He's a grand little horse, and should improve from that."
