Upped to a mile with cheek-pieces deployed for the first time, Heat Of The Day made it third time lucky under Shane Foley in split two of the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden (Plus 10 Race) at Dundalk.
At 66/1 Sir Danilo ran a huge race to really put it up to the Godolphin-owned and Michael Halford-trained Raven's Pass filly, Heat Of The Day, but she was a neck up at the line.
Foley reported: "Our horses usually learn a lot from their first run but she was still green the last day and we put the cheek-pieces on to help her concentrate.
"She saw it out well, and should have no bother going ten furlongs or even a mile and a half."
