Greenbelt proves to be a Star
Greenbelt Star and House Rules dominated the betting in Punchestown’s two mile maiden hurdle and so it proved in the race as Greenbelt Star scooted clear from before the last to win by six lengths from his market rival.
The winner, ridden by Robbie Power, was returned at 6/4 while House Rules was well supported from a morning price of 5/2 to an SP of even money favouritism.
First reserve Bessie Lou who got in due to Asaintiaint being declared a non-runner, completed the placings at 66/1.
In-form trainer Jessica Harrington said: “He’ll go for another hurdle race and then a flat handicap somewhere along the line.
“He’ll go on and mix it between hurdles and flat over the summer.”
