Magi Gal (11s into 7s) put a second Dundalk win on the board and a third all told when triumphing in the Follow BetVictor Racing On Twitter Handicap for John McConnell and Siobhan Rutledge.
Seven pound apprentice Rutledge excelled on the Magician filly as she was slow away from the stalls and raced keenly at the back.
Coming with her effort between horses in the straight, she edged a little left late on but saw off Wisaka by a neck.
“That was brilliant, what a ride!” said McConnell.
“She lost five lengths at the start, she's always done that, but we don't want to rev her up because she can actually be keen.
“There is a fine line between sending her mad doing stalls work with her and getting her to jump out halfway on terms.
“She's very tough and genuine when she does get going. She had to be there because she's tiny and had to battle through the gap.
“The two of them are a great team and that's their third win together. It was a brilliant performance by horse and rider and I'm delighted for both of them.
“She's going to go up again, and she hasn't dropped that much actually, but she's not getting any worse anyway and there might be a little bit more in her.
“She always gives her all and is just a great little mare. I'm delighted for the two of them, they deserve it.”
Siobhan Rutledge, rider of Magi Gal trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount hung left in the last furlong.
S. Foley, rider of Bare With Me trained by E. J. O'Grady, reported to the Clerk of Scales that he had to check for corrective measures close to the line.
