"Great ride" from Dunne sees a 2nd winner on the board for promising amateur

Joey Dunne rode his second winner when scoring on You Say Nothing (7/2 favourite) in the John Thomas McNamara Series (Q.R) Handicap Hurdle at Punchestown.
Gavin Cromwell ’s Epaulette gelding was following up on a Down Royal success from last month when he also made all.
Dunne was much more alert at the start than some of his rivals and his mount was soon bowling along merrily in front in a clear lead.
The pursuers never really gave the impression that they would bridge the gap and You Say Nothing eventually ran out an unchallenged fifteen length winner over Spare Brakes
“It was a great ride. He got a freebie out the gate, robbed a nice lead and got his fractions right,” said Cromwell.
“He's a strong horse that gallops through that ground. He probably doesn't find a whole lot off the bridle.
“We'll look for something similar and he's well schooled over fences as he was going to go for a point-to-point.”
The Stewards reviewed the video and voice recording of the start of this race in conjunction with Mr P.L. Malone IHRB Starter. The Starter explained the different stages of the starting procedure. Having considered all matters the Stewards were satisfied that a fair start had been effected.
