The Dasher Conway (12/1) got up in the final stride to win the William Hill Extra Places Daily Handicap Chase and complete a double for Kells-based trainer Gillian Callaghan.
The nine-year-old son of Ask blundered three out but stayed on to get into contention after the last and foiled the front-running Sargent Lightfoot by a neck.
Winning rider Donagh Meyler carried the colours of P & G Callaghan Windows.
Trainer Callaghan, whose first winner of the evening was Run For Harry said: “In fairness to Donagh he gave him a super ride. He made a bad mistake and crept his way back into it.
“I was worried that we wouldn’t catch the horse in front but he’s battled on well after the last.
“He was in great form and had a good run in Punchestown where he ran on well from the last and we thought back in grade this evening would suit him.
“It’s been a great day. That’s my first double in Ireland. I had a double before in England.”
