Great Minds on the mark again at the Curragh

Great Minds stuck on dourly inside the final furlong to land the Emirates Equestrian Federation Handicap at the Curragh.
Wayne Lordan tucked in behind the leaders, after coming across from his wide draw in stall one, in the six-furlong contest.
He produced his mount to challenge at the furlong pole. 20/1 shot Dashwood who had hit the front two furlongs out after racing prominently, proved tough in front but just gave way inside the final 100 yards.
The Tommy Stack-trained Great Minds, sent off the 4/1 favourite, kept on well close home for a three-parts-of-a-length victory.
The winner was following up a course and distance victory in late March and is now two from two in handicap company.
“He's a decent horse on that ground and it was a fair performance from that draw. It was a good ride by Wayne” said Fozzy Stack.
“Hopefully he'll go for all those good handicaps, like the Scurry, Rockingham and Ayr Gold Cup.”
