Graduate digs deep for Ferris
Undergraduate just got the better of a thrilling finish to the Prior Park Service Station Clonmel Handicap Chase under Martin Ferris. Ar Aghaidh Leat looked set to score when holding a two length advantage at the final fence but Undergraduate, backed from 14/1 down to 10's, dug deep on the run-in to just get up in the closing strides.
The eight-year-old gelding had provided Cork trainer Michael O'Callaghan, who has seven in training at Dromina near Charleville, with his only previous winner under rules at Tramore last New Year's Eve.
