Gorey wins in Middle Persia
Apprentice jockey Shane Gorey put in a good performance after he came home in front of the Bramblestown Maiden aboard 9/2 shot Middle Persia from the Dermot Weld stable.
Gorey was always prominent of the Dalakhansi filly, led entering straight, joined by 11/10 favourite Alakan under Michael Kinane 1f out but the pair kept on strongly to win by a short head.
Lady O’Reilly’s racing manager James Kelly stated afterwards: “It was great to win with her. She is a very well bred filly her dam is a half sister to Invincible Spirit. We will look for another handicap for her now.”
