Gone Viral, right, moves past Northern Surprise

Sheila Lavery’s third winner as a trainer came courtesy of Gone Viral who was partnered by Pat Smullen in the seven furlong handicap for three-year-olds at Gowran Park.
The gelding made headway in the final quarter of a mile and pressed the leader Northern Sunrise at the furlong marker. Smullen got him past that rival and the pair passed the post a length and a quarter to the good at 8/1. He had been backed at 12s this morning.
Runner-up Northern Surprise was returned a 5/1 co-favourite of three. Caliso Bay (11/2) and Jackie Ellis at 10/1 completed the placings.
"That was a bit surprising. I was scared he would get tired, as he is a bit short of work and I can't get him to work hard enough at home. Pat gave him a beautiful ride and he brought him into the race,” Sheila Lavery said.
