Andrew Lynch recorded a double in the colours of Alan and Ann Potts when Sizing Gold made a winning debut over fences in the beginners chase at Navan.
Lynch always had the Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding at the head of affairs in the two-and-a-half mile contest and had a clear advantage from the fifth last.
He kept on strongly in the closing stages and winged the last fence to record a four length victory over Mullaghanoe River who tried hard in second.
The 9/10 favourite, backed from 7/4 this morning, had some smart form over timber, including a Leopardstown maiden hurdle success over Morning Assembly.
“I've always liked him. His form is good when you look at the horses he has beat and the horses that beat him,” said de Bromhead.
“He was a bit disappointing at Fairyhouse so we backed off him. He's such a big horse and probably had enough racing last year.
“He'll maybe have one more run after Christmas and then we'll look at the spring. There is a three-mile race in Naas and a 2m5f in Leopardstown in January.
“He was deadly there and this is his game. I couldn't have been anymore pleased with him.”
Paddy Power introduced the winner at 20/1 for the Jewson Chase at Cheltenham and 25/1 for the RSA while Boylesports go 20/1 for the RSA.
Lynch had also landed the opener aboard the Willie Mullins' trained Sizing Tennessee
