Gold Gets Better and Better
On his third run in eight days, Bangalore Gold supplemented his gains from Roscommon on Sunday by reverting to handicap company to land the Sandyford Handicap by a comprehensive four lengths.
This fellow had been a shade unlucky when runner-up at Fairyhouse just over a week back before putting the record straight four days ago in a maiden when well-punted. He got raised 12Ibs for that but racing here with just the mandatory 5Ibs penalty he showed himself to be a most progressive sort under champion apprentice, Emmett McNamara.
Successful trainer, David Myerscough said: "We plan to give him a bit of a break now as he has had a few runs in quick succession. I'm considering the Scurry Handicap at the Curragh on Derby Day and if that comes a bit soon there is the seven furlong handicap at Galway."
