Goffs graduate scores on Gowran debut

Nancy J bagged a €50,000 Goffs Orby Sale bonus in winning Gowran's Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden on debut today, as the Jessica Harrington-trained filly justified strong late support (11/1 — 13/2) under Shane Foley.
The Imad Alsagar-owned Ten Sovereigns-filly was pushed along to lead a furlong out and while showing inexperience in the final furlong, kept galloping under a hands-and-heels ride, beating 9/4f Dignam by a neck.
Bought for €90,000 at the Goffs Orby Book 1 Sale last September, Nancy J picked up today's sales bonus and also notably holds an entry for the Curragh Goffs Million on September 28.
Foley said “she did that well, she's a nice filly and always showed us plenty. She had a nice draw (2) and had the run of the race. She was quite green when she hit the front but won well.
“There were a few horses in it that had some nice runs but we had the draw and had a lovely run around, it was like a piece of work. She's alright and will improve plenty from that too.”
