Glory for Forever
Forever Glory followed up on her good recent effort, when second on Irish Derby day at the Curragh to Freedom, by landing the second on the card at Leopardstown, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.
Trained by Jessica Harrington and ridden by Fran Berry the daughter of Shamardal was sent off the well supported 11/10 favourite, having touched Evens before the off.
The winner was having just her second start for Jessica Harrington, having run once as a 2yo for David Marnane last October over the course.
The winning favourite was travelling best entering the straight in behind the leaders as the runner-up, for Aidan O'Brien & Seamie Heffernan, Cherokee Brave (14/1) took a few lengths out of the field. The winner chased him down however and got on top inside the final furlong, scoring by a head at the line.
The front pair created a five and half length gap back to the third, Shazamour at 12/1 for Jim Bolger & Kevin Manning.
Winning trainer Jessica Harrington said afterwards: "She just crept home. He (Fran Berry) was nursing her and she wasn't enjoying the quick ground.
"We will wait with her now for softer ground and she will go over a mile and a half or a mile and three. Softer ground is her forte.
"Hopefully we will be able to get some blacktype for her.
"She is a big filly and she is just growing into herself now."
