Gavin Cromwell and Luke Dempsey completed a quick double in the two divisions of the Race Displays Maiden Hurdle at Navan with Global Export
The Golden Horn gelding was sent off the 4/6 favourite against 17 rivals and, having filled the runner-up spot on his latest two starts, Dempsey changed tactics here electing to set the pace.
The odds-on shot was headed and slightly hampered by Wrecking Ball Paul four out but was back on terms when blundering at the penultimate flight.
Global Export was much better at the final flight and driven clear on the run-in to beat Evergreen And Red by five lengths.
Wrecking Ball Paul could find no extra after the last to finish a further three and a half lengths away in third.
Dempsey and Cromwell also teamed up to take division one with evens favourite Vera Verto
Crowmell said, "It's like Dublin buses! He was knocked sideways down the back and in fairness when he was passed, he has been keen in his races before, he settled grand in second.
“He was probably lucky at the second last but he went to the line well enough.
“We'll maybe look for a rated race or something, it's grand to get his head in front anyway.”
