Gleadhradh makes it 2 for Bolger & Manning
The stallion Chevalier had a winner in the point-to-pointing sphere lately courtesy of the Sam Curling-trained Rock Of Allen at Dromahane and another of his sons Gleadhradh showed stamina in abundance to land the Crown Plaza Race & Stay Package Median Auction Maiden at Dundalk.
Never far off a spanking gallop set by the Joseph O'Brien ridden first-time blinkered President Lincoln the Kevin Manning-ridden Gleadhradh got to the front himself a furlong and a half out but he looked sure to be out-pointed by Balmont Mast However Gleadhradh stuck his neck out most willingly to hold on and provide Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning with a double. They'd taken the opener with Snowflake Dancer
Ger Flynn, representing Bolger, said: "He's a lovely horse and he could make a listed horse over a mile or a mile and a quarter.
"He's done well over the winter and he's a fine scopey horse."
Gleadhradh finished fifth to no less than Casamento (beaten fifteen lengths) on his only start at two. Buccaneer Bob a newcomer from the Ger Lyons yard, was backed from 40/1 into 9/1 on track but he had to settle for seventh place.
