Giving is a strong Order
Giving Orders just came out best in an exciting finish to the mile fillies maiden, although connections are already dreaming of much better things with the grey daughter of Encosta de Lago.
Supported at 10/1 in the shops this morning and sent off an 11/2 chance, Fran Berry's mount led under pressure well inside the final furlong before holding on by the minimum margin from strong-finishing newcomer Laughing (16/1). Oh What A Kitten (11/2) was prominent throughout but could find no extra in the closing stages finishing another three quarters of a length back in third.
Successful trainer Jessica Harrington was represented by her husband Johnny, who said: “Her last run here was an eye-catching one, and I thought she'd nearly win tonight. We think she could be a Listed filly, and the ground needs to be good to see her at her best. She'll come on a bit from that run and we'll try to get her some black type. I thought that looked quite a good maiden.”
