There was a controversial finish to the mile handicap as Gimli's Rock held on grimly under Keagan Latham despite drifting left across the track inside the final furlong.

Jessica Harrington 's charge just held the run of Izagonawin but it was third-placed Tatcoa who suffered the most as he was squeezed out in the closing stages.

The placings remained unaltered after the stewards enquiry. Latham was, however, given a three-day ban for careless riding.
