Cast-off purchase Ghumama notched a second success today as the James McAuley owned-and-trained filly landed Dundalk's concluding Book Online @ DundalkStadium.com Handicap, under jockey Bill Lee.
Bought from late Hamdan Al Maktoum's Shadwell Estate for 4,500gns in July 2021, the five year old daughter of Dawn Approach today notched a second course success over today's 1m2f, 150yds distance, beating Maralingo by two lengths.
McAuley said "to be fair, this is her fourth week in-a-row up here and there was nothing coming up for four or five weeks so we took a chance - I don't like giving horses four or five weeks off.
“Chris Hayes rode her last week and thought she might actually win on finals' day (at today's venue in March).
"My horses are running to their marks, some will keep tipping away and we'll probably have 25 for the turf season. We let others buy expensive juveniles and then we buy them with problems!"
