- Georges slams rivals in style
Georges slams rivals in style
The first division of the 47-60 mile handicap at Dundalk looked an open contest but Jeangeorges ran away with the race under Danny Grant.
Pat Flynn 's charge was sent off 5/1 co-favourite of three but proved a different class as he carred top-weight to victory.
The gelding hit the front, travelling well, entering the straight and kicked clear of his field over a furlong from home.
He kept on strongly in the closing stages to post a four-and-a-half length victory over 14/1 shot Daisy Mountain
Fellow 5/1cf Fellisha (well backed from 14/1 in morning) was third while the other market leader, Painted Fingers could only manage 12th.
The winner had been placed twice off this mark this term but looks set for a considerable hike after tonight's effort.
Winning owner Brendan Cooney, from Roscommon, breeds and sells horses and currently has three in training with Flynn and one with Michael Halford:-
"The ground was a bit soft for him last time at Killarney. I wasn't sure about him tonight as he ran poorly here last year but he was alright tonight."
Gary Carson
