George continues winning ways
The James Barrett-trained Lake George made it three wins from his last five starts when taking the concluding Michael (Mick) Nolan Memorial Handicap under Chris Hayes at the Curragh.
The progressive three-year-old gelding led two furlongs out, and held off the late challenge of Casela Park by a length.
Barrett said, “We fancied Lake George at Galway and again today and it’s onwards and upwards from here as he is certainly improving. He’ll go for either the Cambridgeshire or a big handicap on Champion Stakes Day at Leopardstown next.
"He’ll definitely get a mile as Chris said he had a job pulling him up after the race.”
