After the performance of her charge Malt Gem (Andrew Lynch up) in sauntering away with the Irish Racing Yearbook Handicap Chase, the finale at Gowran, Mary Louise Hallahan was well entitled to say: "I'm thrilled with that and thought it was a good performance off top-weight."
Six to one shot Malt Gem (now a dual winner at Gowran) didn't have to exert himself in this two and a quarter miler, crossing the line with thirteen lengths in hand over Ibetellingyoualie
"I told Andrew to be positive on him as he stays and I'm delighted for Andrew as he's hit the cross-bar a few times for us," added Miss Hallahan.
"The horses are in good form - they are sound and healthy.
"He loves it here and jumped great. If he keeps improving it's a possibility he could come back for the Thyestes."
