A winner of her sole point-to-point for Joseph Ryan but well held in three starts over hurdles, Garde La Peche (17/2) made a winning start over racecourse fences when landing the Bulmers Summer BBQ Race Evening Beginners Chase.
There was plenty of pace on and Mike O'Connor bided his time behind the leaders on the daughter of Kapgarde. Once straightening up for home, he produced his mount to lead two furlongs out and she stayed on well to beat Hard Target by two and a quarter lengths. The final two fences were omitted with jockeys being attended to on the landing side.
Henry de Bromhead trains the six-year-old for locally-based owners Robcour and said: "She had been disappointing over hurdles but that was really good. She loved fences and Mikey gave her a super ride. Chasing is her gig and we'll kick on from here.
"I think she'll keep going for the summer as she seems to like that ground.
"I'm delighted to get a winner with the Achesons being here."
