Galvin gets off mark on Flat
Brian Galvin saddled his first winner on the Flat when Lady Pastrana took the two-year-old auction maiden at Roscommon.
The Dunshaughlin handler was recording his third victory 'on the track', the previous two over jumps and the last back in August 2009.
In-form pilot Niall McCullagh did the steering and produced his mount to take it up early in the straight having relinquished the early lead to Dayrina
The Key Of Luck filly stayed on strongly in the closing stages to post a length-victory over 66/1 shot Nine Bean Rows
"She's been threatening to win one of those. She's very honest but wouldn't want the ground any quicker than that - she'd really like a bit of an ease," said Galvin.
"It's great for the lads (Triple R Syndicate) who are a new syndicate with me. That's my first two-year-old winner and I have 12 in training at the moment."
