The Colin Bowe-trained Zamond (6/1) won the John Purfield Memorial Handicap Hurdle (Div I) in decisive fashion.
The blinkered 5-year-old, dropping in trip having been fifth at Tramore last time, tracked the front-running Presenting Cody before heading that one three out.
Jordan Gainford ’s mount had everything else struggling to get to him by the time he jumped the next, and kept on well to account for Falco Du Sauzay by seven and a half lengths.
The French-bred gelding by Diamond Green was making the breakthrough on his eighth start over hurdles.
“He had some good form, he was third in Clonmel,” said 5lb claimer Gainford, who brought his tally to twenty for the season with this victory.
“On good ground today and stepping back from two-and-a-half it worked out really well.
“Colin's horses are in great form and he did it well. He got there easy and put it to bed nicely. It'll be interesting to see what route he takes next.”
