We had a County Waterford trained winner in race one at Wexford, and there was further joy for the Deise when the Vincent Halley-trained Tintown Robin came up trumps in the Monart Destination Spa Handicap Hurdle.

The second event on the card at Bettyville saw Henry de Bromhead in search of a double after his win with Boro Tari in the opener.

His Ourauldman (5/2 into 7/4 favourite) was foiled by Halley’s Tintown Robin (7s into 6s) under Philip Enright, as he came from the back to triumph by two and a quarter lengths.

"I just think the ground was a little bit on the quick side for him earlier in the summer and they done a good job watering it here today," said Halley, on the Julia Foran owned and bred winner.

"It probably suited our horse, I just don't think he wants quick ground at his age anymore. He has won on heavy ground previously.

"He has been a great servant for the owners and has won four times over hurdles now.

"He will probably go for a handicap again. He is entered in Galway and if he doesn't go there he might go to the Tramore Festival."

The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Crimson Chief, trained by J. Morrison, for failing to lodge the passport in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (i).

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Killinkere trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be coughing post race.
