In first-time blinkers King’s Song (6s out to 8s) took the Vee Bistro At Tramore Racecourse Handicap Chase in style under Denis O’Regan.
O’Regan sported the silks of Albert Broad, and his son David does the training of the King’s Theatre gelding at his County Meath base.
On this occasion King’s Song was never far away before asserting from two out to easily beat Dark Outsider by eight lengths.
David Broad said in the aftermath: "He ran well the last day in the Ulster National.
"Today was only a prep run for the La Touche at Punchestown and that is where he will go next.
"He is a fun horse for the family and we are knocking plenty of fun out of him.
"He stays well and won over three mile three at Sedgefield for Gordon (Elliott). I ride out in the morning for Gordon and that's where we got him."
P. Townend, rider of Thats Mypresenting trained by J.R. Barry, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran very free.
C.P. McNamara, rider of Oscar Lantern trained by E. McNamara, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a bad mistake and emptied quickly thereafter.
