She may have only had top of the ground and all-weather wins to her name previously but No Trimmings is obviously versatile when it comes to going and she landed her fifth lifetime win in the Bipolar Empire Apprentice Handicap for the father and son team of Gerry and Colin Keane at Leopardstown.
Coming off the back of a 175 day break No Trimmings didn’t go unbacked (20s this morning into 14s) and she came from off the pace to get to the front inside the final 100 yards to beat the gambled-on joint favourite Little Arrows (9s this morning into 4/1) by half a length. The other joint market leader Adam's Return (8s this morning into 4s) could only manage fifth.
Gerry Keane explained afterwards: "She always runs better fresh and she's been covered by Kodiac.
"She'll be scanned next week and hopefully she's in foal.
"She could go to Limerick next Saturday for a fillies handicap, we'll see how she comes out of this but that's a nice pot.
"She's been good to us in the past couple of seasons." (GC & EM)
