Freedom makes it three for O'Brien in finale
In first time blinkers Freedom became the second Hurricane Run-sired winner of the day at the Curragh following on from Future Generation and he completed a treble for the Ballydoyle team (David Livingston and Misty For Me were their other winners) by landing the concluding Kilsaran International Maiden under Joseph O'Brien.
Lit up by the headgear, Freedom was soon in front but the game looked up for him when he was narrowly headed over a furlong out by Forever Glory (7s into 5s). However Freedom came home much the stronger despite twice being bumped by Forever Glory to eventually beat his principal opponent by a length and a half.
Aidan O'Brien said of Freedom: "It was his first run of the season. He is a bit lazy but he tanked a little bit early on under Joseph and he had to go with him.
"He won well enough at the line. He is a grand hose and we'll see where he stands now."
