The Ger Quirke trained Sarah Battle gained an overdue second career win in the Come On Munster V Toulon Novice Handicap Hurdle at Limerick today, scoring under Adam O'Neill,
The daughter of Flemensfirth was an unlucky-in-running second at Thurles on her last start in March but made no mistake today, staying on gamely to hold the challenge of Lite Duties by a head.
Afterwards Quirke said “Sarah Battle is the fourth generation of that family I have trained! Adam (O'Neill) said the ground was fine for her today and she'll go for something similar again.”
