The Peter Fahey trained Four Wives landed a maiden win in the Christmas Party Raceday December 8th Handicap Hurdle at Cork today, winning under seven pounds claimer Kevin Sexton.
Afterwards Fahey stated “she (Four Wives) does everything very well at home but has been a little disappointing on the track but we changed everything with her today, made the running and it worked out grand.
“She'll stay hurdling this season and is a half-sister to Mariah Rollins and will now make a nice mare for Gerry (O'Dowd, owner and breeder and from Roscommon) to breed from. Gerry missed the meeting as he is just back from a foreign business trip and saw the race in Athlone.”
