Fosters Cross scores for Mullins
Owner Pat Donovan, of Vintage Tipple/Irish Oaks fame, recorded his second winner in two days when his Fosters Cross easily justified 2/5 favouritism in the www.clonmelraces.ie Novice Hurdle for trainer Tom Mullins.
Donovan's Cap Vintage (herself out of Vintage Tipple) won at Gowran yesterday, also for trainer Mullins, and Fosters Cross had little difficulty seeing off 16 inferior rivals, to record a 16 lengths win.
Afterwards Mullins reported “I'm glad to get that win with Fosters Cross after disappointing at Listowel on his last run. That fast ground makes all the difference and today's race conditions were set up perfectly for him. He'll run next in the Grade 3 Joe Mac Novice Hurdle at Tipperary on Sunday.”
