Fleming & Connell complete hurdles double
Deputy's Pass leads over the last

Owner Barry Connell combined with trainer Alan Fleming to complete maiden hurdle double at Roscommon today, as their Deputy's Pass landed the Martinstown Opportunity Maiden Hurdle under jockey David Mullins.
The son of Scorpion out-battled Cecil Corbett in the home straight for a two lengths win and afterwards Connell, earlier successful with Adimelo in the opener, stated "he's a good jumper and was very consistent in bumpers but is probably a better horse over hurdles.
"The extra half mile helped him today and the jumping was a big factor.
"He'll probably go jumping a fence now and we'll look for a beginners chase - there's a beginners in Galway which would probably suit but we'll see how he comes out of this as he had another hard race.
"He's a summer horse and hopefully he can win his beginners chase and a little handicap. That's him - he does what it says on the tin."
