Flemen has Star quality
Flemenstar looked a smart prospect when running out a cosy winner of the two-mile maiden hurdle at Navan.
Andrew Lynch let his mount hit the front before the third last, with the son of Flemensfirth full of running.
He pulled away from his rivals with ease approaching the last and just had to be shaken up on the run-in to post a comfortable nine-length success over 7/4f Rattan
A point-to-point winner last season Peter Casey's charge had showed plenty of promise when fourth in a bumper at the course last month.
"He loved the soft ground and did it well. He'll definitely stay further, 2m4f or more," said winning jockey Lynch afterwards.
