Flameoftheforest burns off Tipperary rivals
Charlie Swan saddled his first two year old winner of his career when his Flameoftheforest overcame an absence of 66 days, since his debut run, to win the Glenvale Stud Auction Maiden at Tipperary today, under a well timed ride from Bill Lee.
Lee produced the winner to lead inside the final furlong before quickening away to win by two and a half lengths from the eye-catching debutante White Front
Afterwards Swan stated “I decided to take my time with Flameoftheforest after he ran first time out at Roscommon, as he is a big horse who needs time.”
He added “being by Danehill Dancer was a big help on that ground and he may or may not have one more run this year – he is a horse for the future.”
