Jeremys Flame made it four wins from her last six starts, as she saw off her three rivals in the feature at Limerick this evening, the EI Electronics Irish EBF Mares Chase.

The winner of a Grade 3 at Naas in November and a Listed contest at Huntingdon in January, the Gavin Cromwell-trained nine-year-old was last seen finishing sixth of nine in the Mares' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

Sent off an easy-to-back 3/1 chance (from as short as 13/8 early), the Flushfarm Racing Syndicate-owned victor raced mainly in second under Keith Donoghue.

In front from five out, she soon went a few lengths clear. Her advantage was reduced on the run to the second last and she needed to be kept up to her work on the run-in, seeing off the effort of Hurricane Georgie by a length-and-a-quarter.

The runner-up was returned at 5/2 under Ben Harvey for Gordon Elliott, while there was a further 17 lengths back to Minx Tiara in third.

Sent off the 7/4 favourite (from 3s early), Effernock Fizz adopted her customary front-running role but she was headed from five out and faded tamely in the straight, finishing last.

"She is a brilliant mare and is always consistent in those mares' races. She was the class horse in the race today," Donoghue commented.

"I probably let her bowl along too far out and she got tired after the last but was always holding on."

It was later reported that the winner is in-foal to Poet's Word.
