Four-time hurdle winner Tullybeg (7/2) got off the mark over fences today, landing Kilbeggan's Belvedere House & Gardens Opportunity Beginners Chase for trainer Gordon Elliott and completing a double for jockey Shane Fitzgerald.
The Bective Stud owned seven year old jumped well and went the inside of left-jumping leader and 5/6 favourite Authorized Art with half a mile to race, before scoring by five and a half lengths from that rival.
Elliott wasn't present and Fitzgerald, earlier successful on the Brian Hamilton trained Miss Us O later said “he jumped savage, you just sit back and enjoy him!
“He didn't make a mistake the whole way, he was absolutely foot perfect. He did it very well in the end and toughed it out to the line.”
