Thousand euro purchase Molly's Gamble (12/1) gained a first win today, landing Killarney's Executive Helicopters Handicap for trainer Denise 'Sneazy' Foster and jockey Wayne Lordan.
The daughter of Battle Of Marengo is a half-sister to UAE Group 3 winner Six Maximilian and having sold for her princely sum as a foal, today ended a six-race, '800-799' form-figured losing spell, arriving from off the pace to beat Bayou Belle by half a length.
Foster, who held Gordon Elliott's Cullentra training license until September, wasn't present and afterwards Lordan said “Mark Enright has been riding this filly and his uncle (and godfather Pat Enright) owns it.
“Mark had to go to Dundalk today but told me everything he needed to know about the filly and said she'd run well. She doesn't like being crowded and while I had a good draw in 1, she doesn't jump well and jumped slow. I switched to the outside and came home really well.
“Mark thought the track would suit her well and Bellewstown may have been too quick for her. She is a straightforward filly and she tries so hopefully there is another day in her.”
