First track win for McElligott as Chrisdon scores
Chrisdonlady (9/2) followed up her good recent effort at Tipperary (finished second to Merchant Royal), as she took the Clieveragh Hunters Chase under Moira McElligott.
The 7yo mare trained by Patrick Neville who has two point-to-point wins to her name, stayed on best to score by three lengths at the finish from Jamsie Hall in second.
The winner ran in three point-to-points this season winning at Rathcannon in September of last year before finishing second to yesterday’s Perth bumper winner Atlanta Falcon at Askeaton. She got her head in front again on her last point-to-point start at Kilmallock in April.
Winning rider Moira McElligott, 24 from Ashdee, Co Kerry, on her first season riding was enjoying her first racecourse success having won two point-to-point’s both of which came on this mare.
Winning trainer Patrick Neville said afterwards: "She is a great mare, very consistent and Moira gets on very well with her, she is a good girl.
"She is improving and good ground is perfect for her. We were hoping it wouldn't rain. She will be kept on the go now during the summer in handicaps".
The 7/4fav Annacarton ran way below his best and finished a disappointing eighth of the nine finishers.
