First double for Jarlath Fahey

Jarlath Fahey and Ronan Whelan, successful with Grand City Hall earlier, rounded off the evening in style when Granite Bay landed the three-year-old handicap.
The gelded son of Time Test had shown mild promise in a couple of maidens and came from off the pace to duel with Sportingsilvermine in the final furlong, just outpointing that one by half a length.
Fahey said of Mrs Sarah Collins' winner: "It was a good day's work and is my first double. In the last few years since Jennies Jewel won at Royal Ascot, I've concentrated more on the flat and have 10 in training. That number keeps us busy and today was great.
"We were concerned about how he'd handle the drier ground but Ronan said he'd handle it and he gave him a great ride.
"He has a good staying pedigree and we think the more he goes up in distance, the more he'll improve as the year goes on."
