First Lieutenant who was an impressive winner at point to point winner at Kilfeacle made it an impressive winning debut on the racecourse when landing the Bennettsbridge Flat Race.

Robbie McNamara who took the riding honours took up the lead travelling well from over a furlong out and kept on strongly for an easy seven length win over seven lengths.

Winning trainer Mouse Morris said afterwards: "He's a lovely horse and we'll put him away now."
