Fiona MacCoul provided the many members of Syndicates Racing with a big payday when prominent throughout to land the €120,000 Irish EBF Auction Series Race Final at Naas.
The Jessica Harrington-trained filly relished this step up to seven furlongs on her third start and really toughed it out inside the final furlong.
Nathan Crosse ’s mount was strongly pressed by the well backed 3/1 favourite Bodhi Bear who appeared to be going best early in the straight, but the 11/1 winner found extra in the closing stages.
Half a length separated the pair at the line with Copacabana Sands suffering a troubled passage before flashing home late on the rail a further half a length back in third.
Harrington said, “She’s a real tough filly and a light weight in those races makes a big difference.
“That was the plan to get out and be prominent from her low draw. Nathan said he got it handy in front which was great.
“She learned a lot in Bellewstown which was too sharp and she got unbalanced over the road.
“She stuck at it very well today and I’d say she’ll get a mile.”
