Little Queenie blazed a trail when making all to win Dundalk's concluding 12th July Ladies Day At Dundalk Handicap today, scoring for trainer Paul Flynn and his daughter jockey Ciara Flynn.
The Camacho-sired three year old was keen to post and got loose at Naas last month but eventually ran, finishing second at 50/1 when headed at the line. Today she was enthusiastic en route to the start and in the race beat off all rivals, for a two lengths win over Pandemic Princess
Jockey Flynn later commented “we stepped her up in trip today and thought she would stay the distance. We weren't too sure about the surface but she seemed to like it.
"At Naas she just leaned left in the last bit and lost her momentum.
“We are delighted that she won there today and that's four winners for me now - I had three on Power Drive so that's my first different winner.”
Flynn's three wins on Power Drive last winter were also front-running rides.
