Fier Destrier Gets There Eventually
On his tenth attempt, Fier Destrier lost his maiden tag in the WH Stephens Maiden Hurdle with Davy Russell doing the steering in the Gigginstown House Stud silks. Energiser was in front when falling two out here (like Billy No Mates in the previous race, failed to get his landing gear out) and from then on Fier Destrier, the 11/4 joint favourite beat off Clonsilla Affairs (drifted left on the run-in) by a length and a half.
Successful trainer, Colm Murphy said: "It's our fourth winner of the season. We have no major plans for him and he'll go handicapping now."
