Fiddle gets Elliott racing club off the mark
Some Fiddle proved easy to back in the bumper at Ballinrobe but got the job done under a strong ride from Nina Carberry.
Gordon Elliott 's charge (4/5 to 11/10f) was driven into the lead leaving the back straight and stuck to her task well rounding the bend.
The Accordion filly was in control down the straight as newcomer Whynotgiveup finished well to chase her home by a length-and-a-half.
The winner had been reluctant to start on her debut here in May but had since run well to finish fourth behind the smart Donatis Comet at Down Royal.
"That's the first winner for my racing club - we've had a few placed horses," revealed Elliott.
"We have 25 or 30 members at the moment but it's open to more. There are no big plans with this filly."
